Bee Sanctuary Honey is an Asian & Family-Owned business operating in Pensacola, Florida!

The Johnson Family tends to hundreds of hives located in & surrounding Pensacola. Partnering with local Farmer’s and dear friends to pollinate our community!

What started as a hobby in 2011, selling barrels of honey to honey retailers, turned into how Zoie was able to put herself through college and run a business part-time while earning her degree from the University of West Florida in 2023.

After graduating, Zoie spend the better part of 3 years, building connections, professional partnerships, and expanding the business all with her parents by her side. This year, 2026, she is the President of the EscaRosa Beekeeper’s Association!

Shelby Johnson is a Certified Master Beekeeper through the University of Florida’s Master Beekeeper Program. He volunteers his time outside of his construction business towards the EscaRosa Beekeeper’s Assocation.

Shelby leads annual Citizen’s Science projects, hosts monthly educational segments at meetings, and stays up-to-date on all things honeybees and what they’re going through.

Lastly, Rizza Johnson is the superhero that keeps Bee Sanctuary running. She creates all our soap bars, lip balms, and infused creamed honeys! You may see her out at a Farmer’s Markets by herself or with Zoie, her daughter.
